Trovit is a search engine that centralizes thousands of classified ads from hundreds of websites. This means that the ads shown are not posted by Trovit and we don't have additional information than the one shown. We work relentlessly to track and erase fraudulent ads but every now and then a fishy one can slip through and make into our search results.
If you have been the victim of a scam through an ad shown in Trovit, don't panic! There are many things you can do to report the case and help find the suspect:
1. Report the fraud to the police or local prosecutors asap
It's fundamental that you report the crime so they can find the perpetrator. You can report it to the General or Regional Police, depending on your country. Authorities often offer specific services for cyber fraud.
2. Report the fraud to Trovit
You need to let us know about this incident so we can act on it. To do so, click on the "Report" button you will find below the ad in the search results page, shown in blue in the image below. You can also write to our support@trovit.com email to let us know in length.
We will then proceed to delete the ad. Keep in mind that, once removed, it may take up to 24 hours to disappear from our search engine.
3. Report the fraud to the website where the ad is published
Trovit is a search engine and not a classified website. This means that, even if we delete the ad from our search engine, it will remain active in the original web where it is from. To remove it completely, please contact that website directly.
